Palliative Care

Palliative care supports patients, their loved ones, and treating clinicians by addressing physical, social, psychological, and spiritual suffering. Although involved in dying, palliative care aims to help people live as fully as possible until natural death.

In therapy we assist the individual who has a serious or life threating disease in improving their quality of life. Not only the patient but also close family members may have unique challenges that we can address in therapy.

During these times individuals may seek spiritual knowledge and support to support them sail across and transition in the way that gives them peace and acceptance of the situation.

Our therapeutic process is in accordance with the following principles:

• Affirms life and regards dying as a normal process.
• Neither hastens nor postpones death.
• Provides relief from pain and other distressing symptoms.
• Integrates the psychological and spiritual aspects of care.
• Offers a support system to help patients live as actively as possible until death.
